Photo contest Rules and Instructions

1.Open to full time and summer residents of the Lake of the Woods.
2. Visitors to our site will be judging the contest. In the event of a tie the Harbourfest committee will determine the winner.

4. Entries must be received on or before midnight July 9th, 2010. Online judging will begin July 15th at www.harbourfest.ca and close July 28th.
5. Entries may be rejected if they do not include your:
     a. name
     b. postal address
     c. email address (if applicable)
     d. phone number
6. Please send one email for each category you are entering. Include the contest you are entering in the subject line SAY: ACTION, Life on the Lake, kid or pet.
7. Photos must be in .jpg or .gif format. Each photo should be less than 1 MB in size. CAUTION – if your email with attachments is too large it might not be delivered by your email system. Check with your internet provider if email is over 10 megs in size.
8. If you would like to title your photo please do so by changing the name of the photo file. Be as creative as you want but keep it short or it may not display properly.
9. New – Maximum of 2 pictures per category. Ie maximum of 8 entries per person.
10. You must be 16 years of age or older and you must be the photographer/owner of the photo.
11. You must be an amateur photographer – i.e. photography has never contributed to your income.
12. At our discretion we may reject any photos.
13. Winners will be notified via phone or email so please be sure to include this information when you enter.
14. Only the top 10-12 photos in each contest category will be shown on our website and as a slide show July 31 & Aug 1 at Harbourfest during the day.
15. By entering the Harbourfest photo contest you agree to allow Harbourfest to use the photo in promoting Harbourfest and the Harbourfest photo contest.
16. Your photo should not contain situations that may be harmful to any person or pet.
17. No altered photos, no added objects, writing, or borders.
